“After being an RN for about 5 years, I came across SMC Academy online and began reading more about it and the medical coding profession. Although I loved working at the bedside, having small children and working 12 hour shifts began getting harder and harder. I decided to start the CPC course, with hopes of eventually finding a remote job within the medical coding profession. The course was very well laid out and easy to follow. Lora was extremely helpful and quickly responded to any questions I had along the way. I finished the course and passed my exam on the first try. I felt that the course and everything included in it prepared me very well for the credentialing exam. I am happy to say I accepted a fully remote job in CDI.
