Course structure and expectations.
The course is organized into chapter modules, with 20 of the 21 chapters from the CPC textbook covered in the online CPC training course. Each chapter module involves the following steps:
- Read the Textbook Chapter
- Complete the “Check Your Understanding” Quiz Online
- Watch Interactive Lectures
- Engage in Practical Applications Through Online Assignments
- Complete the Chapter Review Exam Online
There are no scheduled virtual meetings, giving students the freedom to learn independently. However, students are expected to stay engaged by reading the chapters, watching lectures, and maintaining regular communication with the instructor.

Instructor Support and Communication
When students have questions about the material, they can reach out to the instructor via email. The instructor will respond in one of three ways: by email, through a personalized video, or by scheduling a virtual meeting at a time convenient for the student. Students can request as many virtual meetings as needed.

Study Expectations
On average, students spend 1-2 hours daily studying, five days a week. Some chapters may require more time due to their length and complexity. Students who complete one chapter per week will finish the CPC training course in approximately four months.

Post-Course and Certification
Students who successfully earn the CPC-A credential will then begin Practicode, a virtual clinical experience that allows them to practice coding medical records. To be eligible for the removal of the 'A' designation from their credential, students must achieve a score of 70% or higher on all 600 records. Practicode access is available for 18 months from the start of the purchase date.

Once your payment is received, I will reach out via email to gather your information and confirm your preferred start date. After that, an AAPC Student Membership will be created for you, and you will be enrolled in the CPC course. Your course materials will then be shipped directly to you. It’s that easy!
